grant writer

DESCRIPTION

The Hysterical Womxn's Society is a collective of womxn and allies promoting equity through intentional and informed dialogue on human rights issues. The Society provides a platform for conversation and inspiration through content, events, and partnerships with the goal of inciting change and action.

Roles with The Society are currently all-volunteer based. One of the most crucial jobs for a Non-Profit is that of the Grant Writer. The function of a Grant Writer is to gather documentation and fulfill the necessary requirements of various funding bodies to formally seek funding on behalf of their agency. While individual donors at times can make substantial contributions it is the work of the Grant Writer that can potentially provide the largest most consistent blocks of funding for HWS. Different foundations and other funding organizations may have vastly different requirements to formally apply for a grant. A Grant Writer must be an excellent researcher who not only finds the funding organization who’s grants match with their non-profit, but also must be an astute writer who knows how to properly appeal to the funding organizations board.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Top-shelf research skills

  • Ability to understand the needs of both HWS in need of funding and the organization that is offering the grant money

  • Someone who strongly believes in our mission and excited to expand HWS

  • Creative out of the box thinking

  • Great sense of humor (kidding... sort of)
